SunGard Availability Services (www.sungard.co.uk) serves over 10,000 organisations worldwide, ensuring their IT infrastructure is available and resilient, and keeping their people and information connected at all times.
SunGard asked Oculus to deliver a microsite to showcase its on-demand cloud computing platform. The microsite was to be a compelling sales tool, featuring stylish graphics and always-there calls to action. The overarching purpose of the microsite was to motivate businesses of all kinds to harness the cloud via SunGard to realise their business ambitions.
Our designers used parallax scrolling on the homepage (where background images move more slowly than those in the foreground to create an illusion of depth) to depict the infinite scale of the cloud. Images of cloud benefits float around smoothly, whilst navigation via the header and footer remains fixed to maximise usability.
The site (www.sungardonline.com) sits on Kentico CMS 7, which means SunGard can easily update content, change layouts and add new functionality to the site as requirements change.
Users have the opportunity on every page to sign up for the service via SunGard’s e-commerce purchase platform, or request a free trial. The data capture across the site is fully integrated with SunGard’s Eloqua marketing automation system.
To ensure usability across the board, the microsite is fully optimised for a comprehensive range of desktop/laptop screen sizes as well as full access for iPad users (iOS 6 or newer).
