Pearson Schools and FE Colleges UK (part of the Pearson Group) provides educational materials, technologies, assessments and related services to teachers and students of all ages.
Pearson has been the name behind leading educational brands in the UK and, following a recent global branding exercise, this name is becoming more visible alongside its own well-established brands and imprints, such as Heinemann and Longman.
Every year, it sends catalogues to customers in all secondary schools and further education establishments. Customers really value the catalogues, both as a source of information about resources and as a source of new ideas.
Oculus was asked to create a look and feel for its 2012 catalogue covers that refreshed the existing design, reflected the identity and gave the catalogues a modern look and feel.
The Oculus creative team has vast experience of producing excellent materials for the education sector. The design solution we developed for the 19 subject covers involved converting a full-colour image to black and white and then adding a splash of contrasting colour to work alongside the subject-specific bands and lozenges.
The striking range of new catalogues has provided Pearson Schools and FE Colleges UK with a full refresh of one of its major ways of raising awareness and has ensured that it really stands out from the competition.
